Bettina Kattermann Foundation

Welcome to our website!

We appreciate your interest in our work.

The Bettina Kattermann Foundation is committed to improving health care in Myanmar.
Myanmar (formerly Burma/Burma) is one of the countries with the lowest health expenditure in the world. Illness here means a high risk of poverty. That is why we focus on the qualification and professionalization of medical personnel. Also in the sense of empowering our scholarship holders.

The foundation

  • supports the education of medical students in Myanmar.
  • awards scholarships for postgraduate medical education.
  • is committed to socially disadvantaged students of all denominations.
  • provides information in German-speaking countries about health care in Myanmar.

Support means promoting the future of our students, their families and their home-country: The scholarship holders receive first-class further training. In this way they secure their own existence and that of their families. And public health care in Myanmar benefits from excellent doctors and physicians.
This is the vision we hold – and we are happy to see an expanding circle of successful scholarship holders.

The foundation

The Bettina Kattermann Foundation remembers Bettina Kattermann, MD, a doctor of internal medicine who died in 2012.
