About me

My name is Thet Hsu Zan. By 2007, I passed the matriculation examination with three distinctions and then entered the University of Community Health, where I studied subjects related to public health and medicine to give health care especially in hard- to- reach areas at grass root level community and to promote health status of our country in the domain of Public Health. The four-year-long study and two-month-long research laid a solid foundation in Community Health for me. The pleasure I got from studying and doing research made me decide to pursue a Master degree, and to be specific, in the study of Public Health.

I am currently working as a tutor at the University of Community Health (UCH) in Magway, Myanmar Most of the students in our university are future leaders in the domain of Public Health who will promote health status of our country by preventing disease and managing primary health care. As a teacher at the University of Community Health, I involve shaping future leaders in the domain of Public Health in the country. So, I need international experience and strong academic background not only to solve public health problems in the country but also to recruit young professions. . I might support brilliant students again by filling my capacities.

By studying Public Health in Mahidol University (a well-known university for health sciences and research), it will improve my professional skills in critical thinking, as well as analytical and epidemiological thinking to facilitate good research planning I would like to greatly benefit the health status of our country by doing quality research in addition to encourage research of my students for exploring the community’s real needs through strong sense of research from my advanced degree. Thereafter, it is the highest-ranked university in Thailand and achieves no.104 in Asia which occupies 380th place among the other top 1000 universities in the world according to 2019 QS World University Ranking. Ranked among the other top 1000 universities in the world according to the 2019 QS World University Rankings. Not only the advanced curriculum but also the inspired objectives of MPH program match my area of interest, our country’s context and my future career.

Whenever thinking about educational expense for advanced study, it is a main barrier for me as a low paid staff.

I also have to support my family members again. For this reason, I applied for KAAD fund support to pursue my study. The application of KAAD scholarship entirely matches my post graduate education, preferred university and future career. I really hope this scholarship will enable me to continue to make progress towards my degree for a career as a public health professional.
